A Room of One's Own
I have my own sewing room in the new house. It has two windows that let in lots of light, a bookshelf for all my sewing references, a glass cabinet to house my fabric, and a wooden cabinet to house my yarn. There's a comfy chair, a place to hang the ironing board, and a big desk-- big enough to support my cutting board and my sewing machine at the same time. It's nicer than our living room right now, so John and I both have been hanging out in there in the evenings after Lydia goes to sleep. I don't have a picture of the room itself yet, but here's one of my projects:

Double Irish Chain, begun November 2003, top 99% complete October 2004

A week ago, my brother and his girlfriend came down from NYC to carve pumpkins with us. Here are two of my favorite shots from the orchard:

Matt is in a new band, and his stylish NYC silhouette against the local apple orchard looks straight out of a print ad to me. Diet Coke, anyone?

Lydia is selling cute by the apple portrait station

Coming soon...photos of the sewing room, my Noro Kujaku multidirectional scarf, and my miniature baskets quilt.
