When I say Madam, you say President!
Two weeks ago I was in the field house at our local university to see Barack Obama and Chris Matthews tape an episode of Hardball. This morning at 8:30 I was at the local fire house waiting to see Hillary Clinton. By 2:00, I was at a train station 7 miles away waiting to see Barack Obama for a second time. By 4:30, I was home, with a new Hillary Clinton for President sign planted on my lawn, and a clear conscience that this year I have done my research.

Hillary Clinton has my vote because she described concretely the issues that face our nation. Her speech was detailed and focused, practical and encouraging. She addressed the following issues directly: the budget deficit; the war in Iraq; health care and social security; energy independence; job market expansion. Hillary plans to restore balance for American citizens-- balance among the tax burdens citizens and businesses of all income levels bear; balance between a reduction in our energy requirements and the identification and diversification of renewable energy sources; balance between the cost of health care and the number of people who receive timely, affordable, reliable medical services; balance between the number of manufacturing jobs we have lost and the number of new skilled workers needed in the service sector.

I believe Hillary Clinton knows the issues this country faces, and she will rally the citizens of this country to chip away at these problems together. She inspired me and gave me confidence that the problems are big, but not insurmountable. I believe her long service record, as First Lady of Arkansas, as First Lady of the United States, and as US Senator from New York, shows that she is committed to public service above all. She has withstood the intense pressures of campaigning for her husband and for herself, year after year. She has kept her energy, her dignity, and her focus even under the intense scrutiny of the world. Becoming Commander-in-Chief will not shake her resolve to bring back balance to our government.

I have had the fantastic opportunity to see both candidates in person in one day. My vote will be for Hillary Clinton. When I say Madam, you say President!
